The next YouTuber to release a book is Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter. It seems like a new book by a vlogger is out every other week at the moment, but this one stood out more because of the author. If you feel like you’re a bit older than the target market of most of the vloggers out there, it’s likely that you still enjoy watching Louise’s videos, because she seems so down to earth and friendly!

This book is part biography, and part a collection of advice columns on lots of different topics. This isn’t too different to many of the books out there at the moment (for example, Love Tanya by Tanya Burr). What makes this book stand out is that every page is just filled with colour and cheerfulness – it’s the sort of book that you could devour in one go, or just dip into as you want.

The book is split into four sections – Glitz (which covers beautification and style), Create (which is about crafting and how to bring that into your daily life), Need to Knows (which is a big advice section) and All About Love (which…well, you can guess what this section is about!).

Louise has written the book as if she’s having a friendly conversation with you, which works really well. This style works especially well in her baking chapter where she’s brutally honest about her own cooking skills – or lack of! Chapters like the online safety section and body positivity could have felt a little shoehorned in there, but in this book, they work really well (and actually speak a lot of sense!)

Style wise, the book reminded us of books like The Goddess Guide – it’s a similar size, and every page is a full colour photograph (usually!) – if you’re looking for similar books to Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter♦, then you should check The Goddess Guide out. The book is aimed at girls who are just about to start uni – that’s not to say older or younger readers wouldn’t find something useful in there, but it’s very much targeted to the sixth former in your life.

If you’d like to get your own copy, Amazon has Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter♦ for 4.99 with Prime next day delivery.
