Bonjour, Blogger! Deborah
Blog URL Style by Deb
What is your blog about?
Style by Deb covers all-things-fashion (that is OOTDs, trends, runway) and lately I’ve been adding some Lifestyle posts as well.
Is this your first blog?
When did you start your current blog?
Style by Deb was launched on April 2013.
What made you do it?
Long story short: After following many blogs for like a year, I started toying with the idea of creating my own space on the blogosphere. But I guess the decisive moment came when I realized I wasn’t very happy with my studying course decisions and felt the need to express my real passion that was, of course, fashion.
What was your first blog post about?
It was kind of a ‘welcome’ post where I introduced myself and my space. It featured some homemade-kind-of-Polaroid shots. I remember most of the comments I received that day were from my friends and classmates! The post is still up here: http://www.stylebydeb.com/hello-world/
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger?
I would say that’s probably social media, because I may not update my blog every single day with a new post but I’m definitely active on my social media channels every day. Plus, the kind of interaction between me and my followers over there is different and even more ‘personal’ than on my blog.
Do people in your real life know about your blog? If yes, has your blog helped you career wise? If no, why? Do you purposefully keep it a secret?
The thing is, not many people on my off-line life know about it. Not because I keep it as secret, it’s just that I don’t talk about it everywhere I go. Having said that, my blog did help to meet interesting people and probably to get invited to some events but the industry in my city is rather small, and my career is just starting so it may be a little early for me to state if it helped me or not.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of?
That’s a tough one because I feel proud of many posts and collaborations I’ve made. Last year, for example, I loved this photoshoot I made in collaboration with an online store in the entrance of a palace But probably, the highlight of my journey so far was my first interview for a magazine. That was like a real dream come true!
Where do you see your blog in a year?
Hmm… hopefully with a renewed layout and better quality photos, to begin with. ;) But overall, I want to see Style by Deb growing without losing its true essence: sharing my love for fashion with other fellow bloggers and readers.
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?
Although I was mentally prepared for the hard work that it takes to keep up with a blog, the actual every day efforts and even sacrifices I made for getting a post published on a certain date, etc. were a bit overwhelming sometimes. Needless to say it’s been all worth it and I’d do it again if necessary!
What do you wish you know more about now?
Photography and DSRL cameras!!! I’d also love to learn more about HTML codes.
How do you keep motivated to post?
The fact that I’m doing this only for passion makes it very easy to keep myself motivated. Opportunities, new challenges and being able to connect with other people around the world who share the same interests are also powerful fuels. ;)
Anything else you’d like to add?
I really love getting to know other bloggers and readers so feel free to drop by any of my social media accounts:
