What is your blog about?
It’s a photographic lifestyle blog, although I mainly post about photography at the moment.

Is this your first blog?
It’s my first blogspot blog, I’ve run others before.

When did you start your current blog?
I think I started in 2013, so it’s still a baby, and I’m still finding out about what it is going to be content wise and developing it.

What made you do it?
I wanted another platform to show my photography. I have a Flickr account which I post my photos online on, but if I was not posting or wanted to share information, Flickr wasn’t allowing me to do that satisfactorily. I also wanted to share photos which may not make my Flickr, since I only post about 10% of the photos I actually take. As for developing it, I have been influenced by literary and beauty blogs, and would like to take my blog in a more fashion related direction.

What was your first blog post about?
It was just an introductory post! “Hello my name is… I decided to make this blog…” etc. Not very interesting.

What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger?
Social media I guess? Networking is something I struggle with and I think being able to contact and reach out to people is really important.

Do people in your real life know about your blog? If yes, has your blog helped you career wise?
I don’t really have a career, so no it hasn’t helped me career wise, but it has boosted my confidence in photography that so many people around the world, and even acquaintances on Facebook appreciate my work and blog. Photographers I admire have also looked at my blog and that makes me really happy too, to feel like you’re being acknowledged.

What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of?
My blogpost about depression was quite well received, which is lovely. I’d like to post more about mental health (and visualise it more in photography) and teach people about it because having people understand the illness is half the battle.

Where do you see your blog in a year?
I don’t know, I suppose I would like more feedback and stuff since I don’t get many comments or anything. I’d like my photography to grow and maybe get a job through my blog.

What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?
What I actually wanted to do! I’m still figuring it out. I find keeping to one subject/theme really difficult, I have so many ideas.

What do you wish you know more about now?
I’d like to know more about blogging communities and blog layout/html. I’ve already said networking is my weak spot, and I have very little IT skills so if I ever want to change something on my blog I have to spend hours on google and youtube for tutorials!

How do you keep motivated to post?
I don’t, to be honest. For a long time I’ve felt that forcing yourself to post when you’ve got nothing of value to say is damaging and makes your blog’s quality go down a fair bit. However I think doing projects or Q&As can help with regular content because you can update your readers on those as often as you like.

Anything else you’d like to add?
I’m thinking of getting into fashion photography so in the future I’m going to make my blog more fashion orientated.
